Dressed in a jersey from Napoli – the football team where Mertens recently resigned – Kat Kerkhofs made her DJ debut at Tomorrowland today. A few years earlier she appeared as DJ Kitkat at Rock Werchter, now she does it as DJ KAT. And how. “Tomorrowland, are you up for it?” the blonde asked her disciples at The Rave Cave. What followed was a sweltering hot party. Not much later, when husband Dries Mertens also appeared on the scene, the audience went completely wild. Loud applause followed, as did several attempts from the audience to take a picture with Mertens. Not only did he let it go, he also effortlessly incited the same audience. It was clear today that things are going well between the footballer and his wife.
Not that the spectators really needed Dries’ help to go full steam ahead. For an hour they enjoyed a series of hits that had no equal. The fact that Kat even sold Mariah Carey’s ‘All I WantFor Christmas’ in a sweltering hot The Rave Cave says it all. Next year a higher place on the bill, per favore.
