Listen to Guns N’ Roses’ new song “Perhaps” (Video)

It’s the first song Axl Rose, Slash and Duff McKagan have recorded together in 30 years.

Guns N’ Roses have released a new song. The number is titled “Perhaps” and is the first new track since Slash and Duff McKagan returned to GN’R. Not only that, it’s also the first time in 30 years that a song by the band has been penned by Axl Rose with McKagan and Slash co-arranging.

It’s been a while since Guns N’ Roses shared new footage with the world. In 2016 two hitherto unreleased songs, “Absurd” and “Hard Skool”, were released, but they were still outtakes from the album “Chinese Democracy”. And even that record was released in 2008. That’s why GN’R fans are headbanging for joy at the band’s fresh sound.

“Perhaps” is the first track released by the band with the (more or less) original line-up. Not only singer Axl Rose is responsible for the songwriting, but also guitarist Slash and bassist Duff McKagan. “Perhaps” originally came from GN’R’s “Chinese Democracy” sessions, but has now been slightly reworked with Slash and McKagan. A demo version of the song had been making the rounds on the internet for some time, and curiously the track leaked prematurely on digital jukeboxes in some US bars.

Rose, Slash and McKagan getting creative together again wasn’t a given. There have always been arguments between the musicians over the years, but they now seem to have been completely resolved. Slash even spoke of wanting to record a new album soon.
