Linda de Mol has good news after the flop of her RTL 4 show Briljante Breinen, because her SBS 6 show In De Ring did score well enough for a sequel. “Second season!”
It was quite painful for Linda de Mol that her self-conceived RTL 4 show Briljante Breinen failed. The viewing figures were not convincing at all and that is why the channel, to which Linda was loaned especially for this project, did not want a second season. Now there is good news for the fallen TV queen, because SBS 6 does give her the green light.
Through the Ring
SBS 6, the TV channel of her brother John de Mol, has ordered a new series of episodes of her program Postcode Lottery: In De Ring. “I have just been told that there will be a second season, so I am very happy with that, because I really enjoyed doing it,” says the presenter in Show news.
Linda is delighted. “It’s quite difficult to get a new program to score these days and this one has done well, so we’re going to make about eight more in the new season.”
Recipe for success
Why does In De Ring score? “People like the fact that they can participate. It’s fun because there are always happy people at the end. I think that’s a recipe for success. I really love games. I really sympathize with the people who are there, so it doesn’t feel like work at all.”
According to Linda, foreign countries are already interested in the show. “It has indeed already been sold to Australia and I understand that there is already interest from other countries.”
Million dollar hunt
Would Linda consider presenting the German version of the program? “Well, they already asked me that for Miljoenenjacht. After sleeping on it for a few nights, I indicated that I will not do that anymore.”
By the way, Linda spoke with a huge speech impediment during this telephone interview with Shownieuws. She lisped as if her entire mouth was swollen, but the Shownieuws studio kept silent about it as if nothing had happened. She may have undergone cosmetic treatment, such as lip fillers.
