After her comeback, Sabine Lisicki will serve in the qualification for the WTA tournament in Berlin. The 32-year-old received a wild card from the LTTC Rot-Weiss, on whose facility the heavily occupied grass event will take place from June 11th to 19th. A total of 17 professionals from the top 20 are in the main field at the start.

“I’m very happy that Berlin will be part of my comeback on the WTA tour,” said the 2013 Wimbledon finalist: “It’s great that I can play in front of my home crowd in my home club.”

At the beginning of May, Lisicki played her first match in a year and a half at the lower level in the USA. She is currently ranked 1127th in the world. In November 2020, Lisicki suffered a cruciate ligament rupture and then had to fight hard to return.
