Lions to Final Four and win for Bevo | 1Limburg

Kembit-Lions has definitely qualified for the final of the BENE league after the win at Quintus. The weekend of the final will take place on March 26 and 27 in Den Bosch.

Quintus Lions
Lions faced a small deficit in Kwintsheul until halfway through the first half, but came alongside at 10-10. The score was also tied at halftime, 14-14. In the 2nd half, coach Christoph Jauernik’s team made the difference at 17-17. The margin was two or three hits until Lions pushed one more time. Through Robin Leunissen and Peter Schmeits, among others, Lions managed to score seven goals, with a final score of 26-33.

Final Four weekend
In addition to the Sittard team, the Belgian Bocholt is sure to participate. Bocholt finishes first in the BENE-league competition.
The four finalists will be completed at the end of this month by Aalsmeer and Sporting Pelt (Neerplet). That Belgian-Limburg club defeated fellow contender Volendam in a direct duel (33-28).

Ranking
Lions has one point more than Neerpelt after 20 games. On Tuesday evening, March 8, the two clubs in Sittard will play the make-up match against each other. The last round of matches is scheduled for Saturday 12 March. Lions also play at home, against Hasselt. Sporting Pelt visits Visé. Aalsmeer plays at home against the low-ranking Atomix.

Bevo
Herpertz Bevo was no longer competing for the prizes, but winning in and against Hasselt was welcome. The team from Panningen had an easy evening: 20-32. The 10-14 halftime score was reached via a 7-11 lead after 20 minutes. When Dario Polman’s 14-20 was followed by the 14-21 after ten minutes in the 2nd half, the game was decided.

Bevo ends the BENE league with a home game against Hurry-Up.
