Lionel Messi misses another duel after corona infection: ‘Takes longer than expected’ Football

“It all took a little longer than expected,” the PSG attacker said on Instagram. “I want to thank you all for the great support. In the meantime, I’m almost recovered and can’t wait to get back on the field. I’m doing everything I can to get back to 100 percent as soon as possible. Hopefully I’ll see you soon,” Messi said.

Messi contracted corona during the holiday season after spending several days in his native Argentina. On his return to France, he tested negative last week and the seven-time winner of the Golden Ball was allowed to train individually again.

Messi was not the only player at the French top club with corona. Previously, Gianluigi Donnarumma, Juan Bernat, Danilo Pereira, Julian Draxler and Angel Di Maria tested positive. As a result, Paris Saint-Germain canceled a training camp of a few days in Qatar and Saudi Arabia earlier this week.

Neymar is also not available for PSG after a knee injury sustained in November, leader in Ligue 1 with 47 points from twenty games.
