Linkin Park is by no means averse to hip -hop – quite the contrary. This is regularly reflected in the rap parts of various songs by the band. In particular, Mike Shinoda, the band’s rapper, is considered a particularly hip-hop affin. Together with bandmate and DJ Joe Hahn, he was now a guest in the “Drink Champs” podcast. Among other things, the question arose with which rapper: inside the band would like to work together in the future. Here we go …
These are Shinodas Top 5
A collaboration between Linkin Park and the rapper Kendrick Lamar? Definitely conceivable for the band. The American megastar is just one of the big names on Mike Shinoda’s list. In addition, the Beastie Boys, Tyler, The Creator, André 3000 and the WU-Tang Clan are also the candidates with whom the Nu Metal Group would like to do a thing.
A lot of recognition for the women of hip hop
However, the Linkin Park member quickly noticed the abundance of rappers and the lack of rappers on his list. Shinoda has some interesting names of the female hip-hop world in stock. His dream collaborations include Ms. Lauryn Hill, Rah Digga and Queen Latifah. For the latter he finds special words: “She has such a confidence and she doesn’t sell with her sexuality … she felt like a role model.”
Doechii stands out
Mike Shinoda expressed the greatest praise for the rapper Doechii. “Oh, doechii. Why didn’t I say doechii? … I should have said Doechii earlier. She is incredible!” The moderator of the “Drink Champs” podcast also described them as a mixture of André 3000 and Tyler, The Creator-but better and female.
A confirmed cooperation between Linkin Park and the rapper mentioned: So far, there are no inside. The band is currently on tour with several concerts in Germany. Next there are appearances in Berlin, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt am Main, Hamburg and Munich.
