Lindsey Vonn is one of the best-known names in alpine skiing. The four-time overall World Cup winner is currently preparing for the upcoming season, but had to leave the latest training camp a little earlier than originally planned.
“Thank you for the great summer preparation to everyone who contributed, including Mother Nature! It couldn’t have been better. I feel healthy, grateful and excited for what’s to come,” Lindsey Vonn wrote in an Instagram post.
However, the 40-year-old revealed: “Unfortunately I had to go home a day early to visit my boy Leo… My boy is getting old, but he’s still holding on. His strength gives me strength. We can do it!” Leo is the dog of the 2010 Olympic champion.
Vonn had been preparing for the upcoming alpine ski season in Chile over the past few days. The World Cup starts on October 25th in Sölden, Austria.
Vonn celebrated her highly acclaimed comeback in alpine skiing last December after five years. At the season finale in Sun Valley, the 40-year-old reached the podium in second place in the Super-G for the first time since March 2018 – and thus made a statement.
Lindsey Vonn works with Norway legend
Vonn is breaking new ground ahead of the 2025/26 Olympic season. The US superstar works with five-time Alpine skiing world champion Aksel Lund Svindal.
The Norwegian firmly believes in success with Vonn. “We will prepare to be as good as possible. To fight for medals at the Olympic Games. Her goal is to be so good that she can win races,” the Norwegian told the newspaper “Verdens Gang” in the summer.
Vonn is already one of the most successful alpine ski athletes of all time. But the four-time overall World Cup winner doesn’t have enough.
