Alpine star Lindsey Vonn dazzled on the Met Gala red carpet just three months after her horrific accident.
Vonn, 41, took her first steps without crutches at the gala. Her impressive outfit was complemented by a stylish walking stick.
However, movement still caused problems for the American. He needed help going up the stairs, for example – and there was plenty of them in the ballroom.
– There are quite a few stairs. It’s exciting. I kept wondering if I could do it, Vonn told CNN before the gala night.
With the support of the handlers, Vonn was finally able to move, and she was smiling. He told For People magazine to feel amazing.
The alpine skier had a dangerous fall during the Olympic downhill in February, and was rushed to the hospital by ambulance. His leg disintegrated so badly that it had to be amputated eight times.
