Recommendations of the Editorial team

From April 10, 2026, an exhibition can be seen in the Rammstein store in Berlin, which also contains drawings that depict the various band members as “Lord of the Rings” characters.

“Sketches and illustrations by Rammstein are among the most frequently submitted contributions in the Rammstein fan archive,” it says on their Instagram channel. “They range from dynamic live performances to imaginative works such as exhibit FA66531 – a striking depiction of the band members as characters from Tolkien’s famous universe.”

And further: “All of the pieces shown from the Rammstein Fan Archive are part of an exhibition in the Rammstein store in Berlin, which runs for a month from April 10th during the store’s regular opening hours.”

Rammstein meets Middle-earth: Imaginative role assignments

It takes a lot of imagination to imagine the Rammstein musicians in the famous fantasy roles: Richard Z. Kruspe as the elf Elrond, “Glasses Man” (perhaps Flake?) as the evil Saruman, Paul Landers as Bilbo Baggins, Christoph “Tränchen” Schneider as perhaps Elrond – and to top it off, Till Lindemann as Gandalf. Gandalf is a wizard (Istari) who supports the free peoples of Middle-earth in the fight against evil. Physical desires are alien to him. The illustrator of these sketches clearly showed a sense of humor.

“FA” stands for fan archive, “66531” is the individual catalog or inventory number of the submitted fan contribution. So there seems to be a lot of submissions. By the way, the band’s number six, the silent bassist Oliver Riedel, is missing from this LOTR gallery in the Rammstein socials.

More fan archive pieces on Instagram

On Instagram you can find even more photos of fan archive items that may be exhibited in the Rammstein store. The band advertises one thing like this: “Waidmanns Heil! This special piece has been in the fan archive for over two years: a real antler into which the Rammstein song title was carved and which was then made into a coat rack.”
