Linda Evangelista has breast cancer

Horror diagnoses in the supermodel of the 90s!

Linda Evangelista (58) once founded the supermodel hype with colleagues like Cindy Crawford (57) and Naomi Campbell (53). After a failed beauty operation, she withdrew from the public for five years. In 2022 she modeled again and had herself photographed for “People Magazine”. Now she shocks with two breast cancer diagnoses.

Nobody knew that the ex-top model had been battling cancer for years. She revealed to the Wall Street Journal that she was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2018 and 2022. The disease was first discovered five years ago during her “annual mammography”.

“Without hesitation” she therefore “decided to have a bilateral mastectomy (removal of the mammary glands, ed.)”.

Her son gave strength to Linda Evangelista

But the beauty said to herself: “Breast cancer will not kill me.” After all, her son Augustin (16), called “Augie”, was her greatest support after the failed procedure and her modeling. At the time, she told People Magazine, “He’s the only thing that keeps me going.”

Just four years later, in July 2022, she felt a lump in her breast again. Evangelista instructed her oncologist to “dig a hole” in her chest. “I don’t want it to look pretty. I want you to dig it up. I want to see a hole in my chest when you’re done. Do you understand me? I’m not dying of it,” she recalls.

“Stand with one foot in the grave”

Today, the ex-supermodel is happy about a “good”, but unfortunately not “great” prognosis. The risk of the cancer returning remains relatively high. “I know I have one foot in the grave, but I’m in the mood for celebration,” she said. “I’m so lucky to be alive. Anything that comes now is a bonus.”

Why did she keep her illness a secret for years? “I figured I’d share this with you guys one day, but while I’m going through this, absolutely not.” That day had now come…
