The Linda de Mol series Gooische Vrouwen is no longer a big TV hit like it used to be. More and more people watch the program online at their own time. “This is very disappointing.”

The new season of Gooische Vrouwen has been showing on Videoland for a few weeks, but it also started on television last night on SBS 6. While the previous series premiered with 975 thousand viewers, 804 thousand people watched last night. That in itself is not too bad, but the commercial market share leaves much to be desired: only 11.0 percent.

Snacked away

This is not good, says Tina Nijkamp, our country’s ratings authority. “I find Gooische Vrouwen disappointing. 804 thousand viewers and especially in the target group it had a really low 11.4 percent and that is low. That means that a lot of elderly people watched and I think that Videoland, just like last year, stole a lot.”

She continues Tina’s TV Update: “A lot of younger people have a subscription and have seen it for a long time. They are two episodes ahead, which was three last year, so that is one episode less. But yes, if you look on Videoland, you could see episode three there last night at half past nine. Well, I think 804 is disappointing.”

Carefully

Subsequently, the Art Rooijakkers show The Sword of Damocles had 605 thousand viewers. “I also thought that was a bit cautious. It would have scored very well in 25-54 years: 19.1 percent. That is quite high for SBS 6.”

She concludes: “I think it will still be a hit, but it is a shame that Gooische Vrouwen only had 11.4 in that target group and whether that will get better…”

All in all

Probably not, Tina thinks. “This will be postponed but will be looked at very closely,” she adds on her analysis channel. “I think 500,000 viewers are certainly included, but a slightly higher total score would have been nice for the first one.”

She concludes: “All in all I think this will be a hit. The show did not disappoint, I thought it was very entertaining and well edited.”
