Linda de Mol and her direct team of JA-Marbles underestimate how bad her image is damaged, says TV critic Victor Vlam. “Her share in the Voice scandal has stuck to her.”
From someone like Linda de Mol, the model of stature and class for years, you can at least expect professionalism to account for her role in the Voice scandal. However, she is involved. The fact that she has referred victims of Ali B casually and said nothing to her brother? Hardly a statement.
Linda Flopt
There are more questions open. Her sweetheart Jeroen Rietbergen, for example, stated in the first explanation about his misconduct that he confessed at least one misconduct from The Voice years ago to Linda. She denied that eight (!) Months later, but also for that sudden twist she never justified. Did Linda know about it or not?
It is one of the many questions that linger in the air. And as long as they continue to float, the damage will also stick, thinks TV critic Victor Vlam. He points to the extremely low viewing figures of Linda’s newest TV child brilliant brains. There really isn’t a dog at that show: last weekend there were 367 thousand viewers left.
“She underestimates it”
What is this due to? Victor in the podcast Victor explains TV: “I think first: the image of Linda de Mol has been damaged among everything that happened in recent years. I think this is also a little underestimated by Linda and the circle of people around her.”
He continues: “A lot has happened, because her share in the scandal surrounding The Voice and her partner Jeroen Rietbergen has stuck to her.”
Mien from Appeldoorn
Are the common man and woman still busy with the Voice scandal? “I don’t think Mien from Apeldoorn is daily busy with what Linda de Mol has done in recent years, and he is certainly not busy with these scandals every day, but I do think that because Linda has come in the news in this way, she has a less positive image of Linda.”
The TV-Duider continues: “Her great strength was always the gun factor, which is less and that is why fewer people look. I think that’s the first reason.”
‘It rattles’
However, it is not only Linda’s image why brilliant brains is flopped, says Victor. “The second reason is that the format is simply not very authentic. It feels a bit made. You call the program brilliant brains, but then you let people answer questions about Máxima, Elvis or Bene Gooische Women.”
He continues: “Then the question you can ask: Do you really have to be brilliant? It is very thick on top that this is a way to give the viewer the feeling that it is not stupid at least.”
Theory of relativity
With such a program name you expect something very different from cowardly questions about Gooische Vrouwen, says Victor. “Of course you can also ask questions about the theory of relativity. That is actually a much better test to measure whether someone has a brilliant brain.”
He concludes: “You only run the risk that people cannot play it at home and therefore do not like it. You understand somewhere why they did it, but it doesn’t feel very authentic; it feels made to that.”
