Lightning goal conceded for Gersbeck in Hertha’s comeback

By Roberto Lamprecht and Robert Matiebel

Hertha used the international break for a test match and won 6:1 (5:0) in the Mommsenstadion in front of 1,826 spectators against fifth division team Tennis Borussia Berlin.

Much more important than all the goals: Before kick-off, both teams will hold a minute’s silence together – in solidarity with Israel after the terrible events since last Saturday.

Sport follows! Hertha is off to a lightning start in the new 4-1-4-1 system!

Gustav Christensen (2nd minute), Nader Jindaoui (4th), substitute left-back Deyovaiso Zeefuik (19th/32nd) and Bence Dardai score to make it 5-0 by halftime! The blue and white give TeBe a violet…

The Hertha fans in the stadium have a lot to cheer about. But the Hertha supporters, who had relied and were looking forward to Hertha’s announced live stream on the internet, were staring down the barrel until the 42nd minute. Internet problems…

Much more exciting: In the second half, goalkeeper Marius Gersbeck (28), who was suspended for a long time and recently pardoned after a training camp brawl in Austria in mid-May, celebrates his comeback in the box.

Curious: After just 85 seconds, Gerbeck has to reach behind himself. Reason: After contact with Hertha defender Tim Hoffmann, Borusse Grigoriadis goes down in the penalty area – TeBe captain Tim Oschmann sinks the penalty to make it 1:5 (47th).

Gersbeck is blameless and has no chance of conceding the goal. Otherwise it will violate a quiet evening. Hertha is something to consider.

Great: In the 75th minute, Leander Popp (18) scored on his professional debut to make it 6-1. Popp tore his cruciate ligament in January and is getting better and better.
