Lifelong stadium ban in Australia for bringing Nazi salute

The Australian Football Association has imposed a lifelong stadium ban on a supporter of Sydney United 58 for making the Nazi salute. The man may never again visit matches of the national team, the Australian league A-League and the cup tournament.

This incident occurred during the cup final won by Macarthur FC against Sydney United 58 (0-2). The match was overshadowed by Nazi gestures and racist chants. Others who have engaged in such behavior are still under investigation.

The union’s chief executive, James Johnson, said he was shocked and concerned. “These actions symbolize the disrespect the perpetrators have for our football community. It is insulting and extremely painful.”
