The “sheriff” of football country is no longer. Guido ‘Guy’ Bellemans (82) died last Saturday in the UZ Jette. It is a name that still gives the football world chills and nodding knees. He was the investigating judge who the biggest football scandal in our country, the story of how his investigation into the Bende van Nijvel in 1982 led the investigators to the black accounts of an ex-Anderlecht player and football agent.
