Life sentence and acquittal in extensive liquidation process Eris

Ferrel T. (36) has been given a life sentence for involvement in the murder of Justin Jap Tjong. Another suspect, Guyno O. (30), was acquitted because the judges could not prove whether he knew about the liquidation. That is what the Central Netherlands court decided on Thursday judged† The verdict is part of the Eris mega-trial. T. lured 25-year-old Jap Tjong into a trap in early 2017, which led to his death in the Amsterdam district of Osdorp. He died there from dozens of gunshots. In April, the Public Prosecution Service demanded life sentences against both men.

According to the Justice Department, Jap Tjong was murdered by order of Ridouan Taghi in retaliation for his involvement in the murder of Hakim Illi, shortly before the murder of Jap Tjong. Illi was a descendant of an influential Utrecht underworld family and an acquaintance of Taghi. His family is said to have demanded retribution for the murder. The main suspect for the murder of Jap Tjong, 57-year-old Roël T., was provisionally released in 2020. He was suspected by the Public Prosecution Service of having pulled the trigger.

At the beginning of 2019, the District Court of the Central Netherlands sentenced Ferrel T. and Guyno O. to prison terms of 26 years for the so-called Utrecht misdemeanor murder of Hakim Changachi and an attempted murder of another two days later. T. appealed and was sentenced by the court in Arnhem to 21 years in prison.

Extensive liquidation process

The partial investigation into T. and O., which is called Charon II, is part of the extensive liquidation process of Eris. This file has more than 50,000 pages and nineteen suspects are on trial, including leaders and members of the motorcycle club Caloh Wagoh. In addition to five murders within eight months – the one on Jap Tjong is the first – they are suspected of ten attempted murders, illegal possession of weapons and extortion.

The court in the Central Netherlands already imposed three life terms in the Eris liquidation process on Tuesday. Among the life sentences is the main suspect Delano R., founder of the Hague street gang The Crips and president of motorcycle club Caloh Wagoh.
