Lieke van Lexmond does not want to say anything more about Fidan Ekiz, who tackled her harshly in the summer of 2022 in the former talk show Op1. “Luckily I’m done with that now.”
It was very exciting television in the summer of 2022: that evening when Lieke van Lexmond was tackled very hard by Fidan Ekiz in the talk show Op1. The eccentric presenter was in the news at the time because of her silly moon calendar, her opinion on vaccinations and the sale of ‘healing gemstones’ that turned out to be completely fake.
Gossip journalist
Doutzen Kroes, a friend of Lieke, sat white-hot in front of the TV and called Fidan a gossip journalist. Fidan reacted with bewilderment: “I thought: what is going wrong here? She knew I would ask about this, right? Afterwards I also checked this with the editor and with Lieke herself. Everything was discussed in advance.”
B*llshit, Lieke then shouted again. She said angrily to RTL Boulevard: “I don’t think I am the person you should ask to participate in Fidan Ekiz’s charm offensive. The criticism Fidan has received came from viewers who saw the interview. There is little I can do to change that.”
Lieke remains silent
Now, two and a half years later, Lieke no longer wants to say anything about that. “Fortunately, we’re done with that now, so I don’t feel the need to look back on it,” she says Weekend.
“It’s something that other people put on you and determine, and I’ve learned that there’s no point in worrying about what people think of you. There’s nothing you can do about that.”
Introspection
Lieke eventually said goodbye to that weird moon thing. “What you can do is look: how did this come about and what can I change? I think that introspection is very important. I apply that and I am faithful to the things I do.”
But, she says: “I still fully support what I have done, I believe in the material that we have brought and that fortunately my sister still brings. It’s also nice for me that I now have time and space to tackle new things.”
