The femicide of Luna Micaela Giardina and Mariel Zamudio, committed by Pablo Laurta in Córdoba, has put the links between hate speech and gender violence at the center of the debate. But on network

On October 13, the user @NahuyAndi shared screenshots of alleged tweets from Laurta (@taura) from 2014 to 2020, with phrases such as “I will stay with Perón all my life” or criticism of Javier Milei. However, there is no evidence to confirm that these messages are real or come from his original account, suggesting that they could be fake.

Laurta, a 39-year-old Uruguayan and founder of “Varones Unidos,” was known for his support of the libertarian movement and figures such as Agustín Laje and Nicolás Márquez. His anti-feminist discourse and his role as a “digital media entrepreneur” clearly align him with that ideology, not with Peronism. In fact, the abundant evidence and deep links to the ideas of hate promoted by Laje and Márquez give libertarians an even greater incentive to manipulate the narrative, seeking to whitewash their image and distract attention from these dangerous connections.

Some online observers have pointed out that this maneuver seems designed to divert the focus from how certain extremist discourses can fuel violence. At a time when society demands answers, these false tweets only confuse and distance the discussion from justice for victims.
