Liam Gallagher has released the title track of his third solo studio album, ‘C’mon You Know’, out May 27th via Warner. The former Oasis frontman describes the second single from his new record as “the sound of summer”. Last week, the Brit and his band were spotted on the roof of a hotel in his hometown of Manchester while filming the accompanying music video for “C’mon You Know”. For Friday lunchtime (April 1st), however, fans will have to make do with the unillustrated song.

Liam makes brothers and sisters out of people

The five-minute must be read as a thoroughly life-affirming manifesto. After Gallagher announces in the first verse that everything will be fine, it sounds in translated words in the chorus: “Beautiful people, come out to play / Brothers and sisters, it’s time / So let’s start living, being thankful and giving in / We’re only here for a short time / I think we’re coming home”. A line that is unusual for the musician, who is known as a roughneck, can be found after the first chorus: “Show love, I’m sick of acting like I’m tough”.

Musically, the song piles up bit by bit: Driven by the rhythm, a gospel background choir, synthesizers and experimental sounds gradually superimpose themselves to head for a pounding finale.

Two records for early summer

In addition to Liam Gallagher’s third solo studio album, C’MON YOU KNOW, which has already been announced, another record by the musician will be released on May 27th. This is the live album DOWN BY THE RIVER THAMES, on which you can find Oasis classics such as “Supersonic”, “Cigarettes & Alcohol” and “Champagne Supernova”, as well as pieces from the musician’s solo oeuvre – including “Once”, “Wall Of Glas” and “All You’re Dreaming Of”.
