Liam Gallagher finds being a solo artist ‘boring as hell’

Ex-Oasis lead singer Liam Gallagher can look back on six successful years as a solo artist. Next month (May 27) the musician will release another album, C’MON YOU KNOW, which he recorded solo. For him, however, it is now “damn boring” to make music alone.

Liam Gallagher ‘would rather be in a band’

The musician would “much prefer” to be in a band, he reports. He would find it significantly less fun recording music that others would have written for him. “To be honest, it’s incredibly boring,” he proclaims, adding, “It’s just not what it’s supposed to be.”

Instead, the 49-year-old would like to “get something going” with a band. No matter how it would go, the most important thing is simply to produce “a good sound” in the end.

Gallagher doesn’t “overthink” lyrics too much

He also talks about the titles of his upcoming album. It will be his third solo long-player to be released through Warner Music. He doesn’t philosophize for long about the meaning of his lyrics, but declares that he doesn’t “think over” them too much. However, he would still be pleased if his listeners ascribed their own interpretation to the texts, if they so wished.

“A song is just a song”

When asked about the opening title of the record “More Power”, he simply explains: “I don’t wish to have more power. It’s just a song.” He is currently “very satisfied” with his life situation and with himself, the lines of “More Power” would be “probably addressed to someone else” for this reason. For him, “a song is just a song”.

“I don’t think about it too much. If it sounds good and I sound good when I sing, then I’m fine. If it sounds forced then I don’t give a fuck,” he concludes.

Gallagher’s current single is called “Better Days” and was described by the musician himself as the “sound of the summer”. The track will also be featured on the forthcoming album. In addition, the live record DOWN BY THE RIVER THAMES will also be released on May 27th, which will include Oasis classics such as “Supersonic”, “Cigarettes & Alcohol” and “Champagne Supernova”. There should also be songs that could be included in an album full of love songs.
