Levi’s appoints new chief marketing officer

Kenny Mitchell is the new senior vice president and chief marketing officer (CMO) at denim specialist Levi’s.

He will begin his new role June 5, Levi’s announced on Thursday. Mitchell will report directly to Michelle Gass, President of parent company Levi Strauss & Co. As head of marketing, he is responsible for the further development of marketing strategies.

“Kenny is widely recognized as an innovative marketing leader and talent enabler, with an impressive track record of building global brands and pioneering digital marketing strategies to accelerate time to value,” said Gass. “It is particularly fitting to have someone of his exceptional caliber join our Levi’s team in this milestone year to further position ourselves for long-term growth and operational success[…].”

Mitchell brings over 20 years of brand building experience with a background in digital, creativity and innovation. Most recently, he was the CMO for Snap, the company behind the Snapchat social network. Other stations were the US corporations McDonald’s and PepsiCo.
