In the second leg against Olympiacos Piraeus, Leverkusen showed a weak performance. But in the end the lead from the first game is enough for the next round.

Bundesliga club Bayer 04 Leverkusen is in the round of 16 of the Champions League. On Tuesday evening, a 0-0 draw in front of a home crowd in the playoff second leg against Olympiacos Piraeus was enough for the “Werkself” to secure their place in the next round. Leverkusen won the first leg in Greece 2-0.

The hosts started the game well, but then became increasingly passive and had some lapses in concentration, especially in the build-up of the game. However, the guests from Piraeus were unable to capitalize on the mistakes and also shied away from taking the final risk, so the game ended goalless. In the round of 16, Leverkusen will now face either FC Bayern Munich or FC Arsenal.
