Flash thunderstorms and euphoric fans: national player Leroy Sané was enthusiastically received when he arrived in Istanbul.
The 29-year-old ended up in the Turkish metropolis on Thursday night and already climbed around the private jet with the scarf of Galatasaray Istanbul. Sané’s contract at Bayern Munich expires at the end of the month, so the attacker can leave the record champion free of charge.
“There were many offers. But Galatasaray as a whole impressed me very much. I was very impressed by the atmosphere, the size of the club, how much you wanted me, how much interest you showed me. So I’m at Galatasaray”, Sané said at the airport. “I am very grateful to the fans. It means a lot to me that they came here at this hour. I am really looking forward to my first game in front of these fans.”
Medical check and Contract signature
Galatasaray had previously announced the upcoming change. “The official negotiations with football professional Leroy Aziz Sané began to switch to our club,” said the Turkish top club on Wednesday evening at X.
After landing, Sané was supposed to complete the mandatory medical check, then sign his contract. Sané allegedly waves an annual salary of up to 15 million euros net in Istanbul.
