Before 1 April, football clubs must formally let us know whether or not they want to extend expiring contracts. In the case of Bilal Ould-Chikh, Barry Lauwers, Imran Nazih and Flip Klomp, it is certain that their employment in Volendam will end this summer.
Ould-Chikh of the foursome is the only basic player. The offside player has indicated that he is ready for a new challenge. Keeper Lauwers has been in the selection for seven years and gained confidence at the start of this season under the bar of coach Rick Kruys, but then lost his place to Kayne van Oevelen. Nazih hardly received any playing minutes and Klomp was already rented to second divisionist Spakenburg. In the summer he switches to Royal HFC.
Options not lifted
Van Daan Steur and Gladwin Curiel have not been lifted the options in the expiring contracts. This young two will discuss a possible new commitment next month.
Mühren, Jacobs and Kuwas have also received a letter of resignation, but that does not mean that they are leaving the club, says technical director Patrick Busby. “We would like to talk to them to see if we can keep them or not. That also has to do that we are financially in a challenging atmosphere.”
