Leitl wins with Hannover 96 against ex-club Fürth

Hannover’s coach Stefan Leitl celebrated the hoped-for success at an emotional reunion with the former club in the 2nd Bundesliga. 96 won against SpVgg Greuther Fürth 2:1 (0:0) and plunged the clover even deeper into the crisis.

After the third win in a row, Hannover is on the way up. Fürth, on the other hand, remained without a win on the sixth day of the game, and the Franconians have been waiting for a threesome for 18 games across the season. The pressure on Leitl successor Marc Schneider is increasing.

Maximilian Beier (52nd) provided the lead, Afimico Pululu (81st) equalized. But just the Ex-Fuerther Havard Nielsen (86th) scored the acclaimed winning goal.

Leitl was under contract with SpVgg for more than three years until the summer, and in 2021 he even led the cloverleaf to the upper house. “Of course it’s a special game,” emphasized Leitl. Part of his family had come all the way from Bavaria.

And she saw a balanced game in the first half without any major highlights. After falling behind, Fürth made an effort and was initially rewarded by Pululu – before Nielsen struck.
