LEFF Amsterdam is, as the name suggests, an Amsterdam-based brand that designs unconventional watches from their studio in the city center of the Dutch capital. In addition to wristwatches for men and women, the Dutch label also offers a selection of indoor timepieces and industrial-style speakers.

“We believe watches are the perfect example of functional beauty as they are technical instruments that also have the potential to be works of art. Nobody really needs a watch – and that challenges us all the more to create something beautiful that you still want to wear on your wrist,” says the brand’s website.

origins

LEFF Amsterdam was founded in 2011 by Arno Ruijzenaars together with his brother Dennis and designer Erwin Termaat. After initially designing grandfather and wall clocks for indoor use, their focus gradually shifted to making wristwatches.

evolution

In 2015, LEFF Amsterdam teamed up with well-known Dutch designer Piet Hein Eek, best known for his scrap wood furniture. The iconic LEFF Amsterdam Tube Watches emerged from this collaboration. The watches typical of the label are characterized by their industrial character, inspired by simple geometry and the unmistakable, extruded ring on the dial.

Current

Today LEFF Amsterdam products are sold online and offline in eleven different countries in Europe, Asia and Australia. The brand is continuously committed to social justice and sustainable projects such as the Pacung Foundation in Bali and the LGBTQIA community with strong statements and donations.
