Leclerc trumps Verstappen in battle for pole position for French GP | Motorsport

Dutchman trumped by Ferrari tactical plan

Max Verstappen failed to capture pole position for the French Grand Prix. In an exciting qualifying session, the 24-year-old Red Bull driver had to settle for second place. Charles Leclerc took advantage of a tactically well executed plan by Ferrari and was no less than three tenths faster. He will start the race on Sunday at 3 p.m. at the front. Sergio Pérez took third place.
