One flew out straight to the start of the race in Brazil, the other had to park his Formula 1 car early after several contacts: Now the two Ferrari drivers Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton have commented on the disaster GP in Brazil.

Lewis Hamilton had another Formula 1 weekend to tick off with Ferrari in Brazil. Due to his failure and that of his teammate Charles Leclerc, the Scuderia now has to worry about a place in the top 3 of the team rankings.

“We lost a lot of points. I don’t know how far we fell behind, but we’ll keep trying,” said a visibly injured Hamilton, who had to park his car prematurely after two early collisions, on “Sky” after the race. The Brit first touched Carlos Sainz’s Williams in the starting phase, then later drove into Franco Colapinto’s Alpine.

“He made a mistake in the last corner and that’s why I had a good slipstream, and when I pulled out I had the feeling that he pulled over at the same moment,” Hamilton tried to explain.

Overall, he still had hope, but “after the damage, the car didn’t work anymore. I no longer had a rear end, the tires gave up very quickly. There was no more downforce. I’m sorry for the whole team and the Tifosi, but there wasn’t anything more possible that weekend,” he concluded.

Leclerc had previously been pushed off the track by Kimi Antonelli (Mercedes) as a result of a bold maneuver by Oscar Piastri (McLaren), causing his tire to burst.

Schumacher understands Leclerc’s “frustration”

“Oscar was just optimistic. Kimi knew that Oscar would come on the inside and then try to take the curve as if Oscar wasn’t there. For me, the blame doesn’t just lie with Oscar. He was optimistic, but that could have been avoided,” said Leclerc on “Sky” and added: “That’s frustrating for me. I’m not mad at Oscar or Kimi, that’s just what happens.”

TV expert Ralf Schumacher agreed with the Scuderia driver. “If you look closely, you can see it like that. If Piastri doesn’t overshoot, nothing will happen. There was air, but Piastri was too tight. It was unfavorable and I understand his frustration,” said the ex-pilot.

Like Hamilton, Leclerc also believed that a top place in the constructors’ championship would now be “incredibly hard. We are giving everything, but it will be difficult,” said Leclerc.
