Lecce booms: the quotas for qualifying for Europe are falling

Everyone is crazy about Lecce. With the victory achieved at the end against Genoa, D’Aversa’s team moved to the top of the table, close to leaders Inter, with 11 points won in five matches. And now the future still appears to be yet to be written, while the odds appearing on the main betting sites are all to be…rewritten. If salvation now seems almost certain, the bookies are now (sensationally) updating Lecce’s odds in Europe.

LECCE IN EUROPE: THE QUOTAS

And to think that, at the beginning of the season, many expected a difficult start to the championship for the Salento team: the change of coach (from Baroni to D’Aversa) and some transfers (captain Hjulmand and Umtiti above all) suggested an uphill start for the yellow-reds. Which, however, surprised everyone, achieving the best start in Serie A history: three wins and two draws, eight goals scored and four conceded, none in the second halves. Not bad. So much so that the bookies suddenly found themselves forced to lower the odds for Lecce’s possible qualification for Europe, which until a few weeks ago was confined to the sphere of impossibility. Today, however, the stakes remain high on Sisal (200.00), but drop to 101.00 on Planetwin365 and 100.00 on Snai, while they even collapse to 34.00 on bet365. In other words: almost impossible, but you never know.

SALVATION NOW ONE STEP AWAY

However, the odds of Lecce’s possible relegation are rising, a sign that the bookies now consider the salvation process almost over despite just five days having passed. Suffice it to say that last year Verona managed to maintain the category with just 31 points won in 38 matches: today Lecce has already won 11, i.e. 35% of last year’s survival quota. For this reason, the possibility of Lecce being relegated has risen to 3.00 on Gazzabet and Snai, but reaches 4.50 on Sisal and 6.00 on Bet365. Now the calendar says Juve in Turin and Naples at Via del mare. Should they score points in both matches, then this Lecce team could really reconsider their seasonal objectives…
