Samsung is gearing up to unveil multiple new foldables and wearables at the upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event, with the Galaxy Watch 9 Ultra being a key highlight. Ahead of the official reveal, all technical details and images have surfaced.
Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 Gets a Minor Redesign
The Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 brings a slightly modified design compared to its predecessor. Leaked images reveal a slightly boxier case design. Additionally, the bezel will now feature numbers from 1 to 12, giving the smartwatch a more traditional watch look. This change makes the Ultra 2 resemble the Galaxy Watch 8 Classic, which, interestingly, will not have a successor.
There will also be changes to the control elements on the right side of the case. Notably, the Quick Button is transitioning from a round button to a broader button accented in orange. The case itself is expected to be made from titanium and rated IP89K for water and dust resistance, and it may be around 12% smaller than the original Ultra model.
Thinner Display Borders and Brighter Screen
The display borders should be slightly narrower than the current Ultra model, while the screen will maintain a size of 1.5 inches. The peak brightness will reportedly increase from 3,000 to 5,000 Nits—likely referring to pixel brightness.
Under the hood, leaked marketing materials suggest that a Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear Elite chip will be featured. Originally unveiled at MWC 2026, the device will be powered by an 800 mAh battery, which marks a substantial 36% increase compared to the first-generation model.

Galaxy Watches Come with New Software
Alongside the hardware, leaked images also showcase early elements of One UI 9 Watch. New watch faces and hints at an updated layout for Samsung Health can be seen. Samsung has already rolled out a related update for the app last week.
Galaxy Watch Ultra is Set to Become More Expensive
The Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 is scheduled to be launched alongside the Galaxy Watch 9, Galaxy Z Fold 8, and Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra on July 22. According to a report from WinFuture, this flagship timepiece will see a price increase, with the starting price projected to be 749 euros—an increase of 50 euros. Expect a black variant with a bluish strap and a silver model featuring a green strap.
