With a last-minute goal, German international Kai Havertz secured FC Arsenal’s place in the League Cup final and decided the London city duel with his former club FC Chelsea.
The offensive player scored the 1-0 winning goal in the seventh minute of injury time and is getting better and better after his serious knee injury.
With this, Havertz removed any remaining doubts about the Gunners’ progress; Arsenal had already won the first leg 3-2. Although Chelsea had an advantage when they met again at the Emirates Stadium, Havertz made the decision after his substitution.
Havertz has his eyes on the World Cup
The 26-year-old, who had been out for several months due to a serious injury, was recently able to draw attention to himself in the Champions League and scored 2-1 in the last game of the league phase in a 3-2 win against FK Kairat from Kazakhstan. National coach Julian Nagelsmann should be pleased to note the performances with a view to the World Cup this year.
Arsenal will face the winner of the game between Manchester City and Newcastle United in the League Cup final on March 22nd. Manchester won the first leg away 2-0.
