For an unknown reason, a QR code leading to a scam website ended up in a flyer distributed by Tampere Raitiotien. Tiina Somerpuro, Tampereen Raitiotie
The QR code in the leaflet distributed by Tampere Raitioti last week leads to a scam website. The company announced the matter on social media on Saturday and warned against handing over payment card information to the website that opens via the link.
A QR code is a square-shaped “barcode” that is read with the phone’s camera, and through which you can directly access the website defined by the creator of the code. In this case, someone had redirected the code to a phishing page.
If you accidentally scanned the code and ended up entering your information on the website that opens through it, contact your bank immediately.
Based on the image shared by the company, the purpose of the QR code has been to facilitate ordering the company’s newsletter. The link should have led to a site where you can order the newsletter.
– We apologize for what happened and we are investigating the matter, the company stated in X on Saturday.
He was the first to tell about what happened Over.

Amulehti: Distributed to homes
Morning paper interviewed by the managing director of Tampere Raitiotien Pekka Sirviö told the newspaper that, according to his understanding, it was a leaflet distributed to homes.
– Unfortunately, I don’t know the number of deliveries, but yes, it is quite large. I think it is directed along the trolley route, Sirviö told Aamulehte.
