Leader St. Pauli drops points to bottom team Osnabrück

I find the narrative of the article a bit misleading. Of course, St Pauli still had promising chances while they were in the lead in the first half. But these were all clarified efficiently. So you can’t necessarily talk about “leaving it there”. In the second half the game was at least even and Osnabrück was at the top at times. The equalizer was more than expected. In this phase, it felt like all of the relevant duels in the half field went to Osnabrück and St Pauli found it difficult to regain the desired control of the game. During this time, Osnabrück took the game out of our hands with classic football virtues and found its way back into the game with fight and will.

Met’s duel behavior in front of the cross of the goal was extremely unfortunate and he can definitely be allowed to do so. Cuisance’s previous shot, however, was brilliantly parried. Only afterwards can one say that promising opportunities were wasted. In the end, it’s a very fair draw and we wouldn’t have been able to complain if Osnabrück had still scored the big point.

The latest developments don’t really make me worry-free about St Pauli. Although we are still top of the table, we increasingly collapse from minute 55/60 onwards and give up games that were previously controlled. We urgently need to investigate the causes if we want to achieve promotion this season.
