Facebook’s parent company Meta is laying off 10,000 more employees in addition to the layoffs last year in November. The company also does not intend to fill the 5,000 jobs that were applied for. The reason behind the decision is – cost cutting. The news agency AP reported about it.

– This will be a difficult, but necessary decision. We have to say goodbye to our skilled colleagues who have been part of our success story, Meta’s CEO Mark Zuckerberg said.

The layoffs will first affect the company’s hiring team. At the end of April, the personnel working with the technologies will be laid off, and at the end of May, the employees of the business group will be laid off.

In November of last year, Meta dismissed 11,000 employees, which at that time was about 13% of the company’s workforce.
