Lautern coach Schuster sees promotion opportunities intact

Coach Dirk Schuster sees 1. FC Kaiserslautern’s chances of promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga still fully intact.

“It’s a fifty-fifty situation,” said the coach of the four-time champions on Sunday with a view to the relegation second leg on Tuesday (8:30 p.m. / Sat.1 and Sky) at Dynamo Dresden: “Everything is open. Both teams are in the draw.”

Since the first leg between Kaiserslautern, third in the third division, and Dresden, third in the second division, ended goalless on Friday, the winner secures the last free place in the second division on Tuesday. “The game will be decided in your head,” said Schuster, who doesn’t want to train on penalties with his protégés.

The Dresdeners are still the only team in German professional football that has not yet won a competitive game this year. Around 3,000 fans in Saxony will support FCK.
