The Rasmus celebrates victory with loved ones and the Blind Channel.
Pre-favorite The Rasmus won the New Music Competition by far. The band will therefore be representing Finland at the Turin Eurovision Song Contest in May.
– We are so happy. We had super tough competitors, Lauri Ylönen said at a news conference after the race.

The whole band praised UMK’s tough level this year.
On the UMK stage, Ylönen threw off his jacket in the middle of the performance, which made many people wonder on social media that what might be the secret of the hard condition of 42-year-old Lauri.
– We are reportedly the band that eats the most, Lauri said.
Drummer Aki Hakala wondered how that might be possible.
Lauri continued to eat the bun, a lot.
– Every time I breathe with Ylönen, it eats buns, the band’s guitarist Emppu Suhonen said.
– Yeah, the record company always has five buns waiting, Lauri continued with a laugh.
The Rasmus plans to celebrate its victory with loved ones and Blind Channel, Finland’s visa representative last year.
– Big party coming, glad The Rasmus glowed.
