Theater association ‘t Ontluikend Bloempje has to say goodbye to Bunne. For the past ten years, the theater company has performed its performances in the old dairy factory. But the owners of De Melkfabriek want to retire and the building is for sale. Another location cannot be found in Bunne, so the theater association is forced to move to Donderen.

But yes, a theater company that does not perform in its own village? Treasurer and actor Arend Smeenge: “Actually, that should be the case. But it is no different now. We are very welcome at Jan and Harma from Café Hoving and we also have good contact with the theater association in Donderen there to coordinate the performance.”

Because according to chairman Marchien Ensing of ‘t Ontluikend Bloempje, there is no question of merging, Bunne will keep her own theater association.

It is with pain in the heart, but owners Vivian Keulars and her husband Eelco want to put an end to it. “We are already of retirement age and it is quite physically demanding. We are open seven days a week for meetings, training and gatherings, and the theater club is added to that.”

Unfortunately, no suitable buyer has yet been found for De Melkfabriek, but although Kelaars has no influence on this, a buyer could continue the company, which would also allow the theater company to return.

Before ‘t Ontluikend Bloempje found its home in the dairy factory, she always played in the local restaurant. “But the owner no longer sees fit for that, it simply does not fit in with current business operations and we understand and respect that,” says Smeenge.
