Hamburger SV rises, behind it is still a lot open in the 2nd Bundesliga. In terms of relegation, the table cellar is close.
The 1. FC Cologne has it in his hand. On the last matchday at home, the “Geißbockelf” is enough against the 1st FC Kaiserslautern a draw to secure second place and to follow the Hamburger SV to the Bundesliga.
Only at a Cologne defeat can SV Elversberg (against Schalke) and SC Paderborn (in Karlsruhe) still have hopes for the direct promotion.
Then both win, then Elversberg would have the front because of his good goal difference. The Cologne team, equipped with the worst goal difference, could even slip to fourth place.
Paderborn can only jump in second place if it wins when Cologne loses and loses Elverberg or plays draw.
The scenarios at an overview
Cologne rises when …
… win you against Kaiserslautern or play a draw
… lose them against Kaiserslautern and not win Elversberg and Paderborn
Elversberg rises when …
… win against Schalke and lose Cologne
Paderborn rises when …
… win you in Karlsruhe, Cologne loses and Elversberg does not win
A lot has to happen for Düsseldorf and Lautern
Only when Elversberg and Paderborn both lose will Fortuna Düsseldorf and 1st FC Kaiserslautern come into play. They could then climb two places each with victories. For Düsseldorf, this would mean third place if the better goal difference compared to Lautern (+2).

Braunschweig, Münster and Fürth in three -way fight
In the table cellar, the two direct relegations have already been determined with Regensburg and Ulm. FC Schalke can only slip very theoretically onto the relegation place.
The matter is more precarious for the three other teams down there. Braunschweig needs a victory against Nuremberg and has to hope that Fürth (against Hamburger SV) and Münster (in Ulm) will lose – otherwise it will stay in 16th place.
If Braunschweig get three points, Münster has to do that too. Then Fürth is already the victim in the event of his own draw. So all three teams have to play for victory, because only one counter couldn’t be enough for 15th place.
The scenarios at an overview
Braunschweig creates direct relegation …
… if you win against Nuremberg and do not win Münster or Fürth
… if you play against Nuremberg and lose Münster in Ulm
Münster creates direct relegation …
… if you win in Ulm
… if you get a point and don’t win Braunschweig or lose Fürth
… if you lose in Ulm and also loses Braunschweig
Fürth creates direct relegation …
… if you win against Hamburger SV
… if you get a point against HSV and don’t win Münster or Braunschweig
… if you lose against the HSV and loses Münster or Braunschweig does not win
