National boxer Buse Naz Çakıroğlu won the gold medal in the 50 kilos at the World Women’s Boxing Championship, hosted by Turkey by the International Boxing Association (IBA).
On the 11th and last day of the championship held in Başakşehir Youth and Sports Facilities, Olympic runner-up national boxer Buse Naz Çakıroğlu played in the final match in 50 kilograms.
Eliminating Mongolian Mungunsaran Balsan in the first round, Algerian Roumaysa Boualam in the second round, Aira Cordero Villegas in the quarter-finals, and Spanish Fernandez in the semi-finals, the Olympic runner-up national boxer faced Colombian Ingrit Lorena Valencia Victoria in the final.
Buse Naz, who started the match well and was in control of the match, won the first round 5-0. Continuing his controlled performance, the national boxer finished the second round 4-1 superior. The crescent-star athlete, who won the last round 4-1, won the match 5-0 and became the world champion.
Buse Naz could not control her tears by experiencing emotional moments after her championship. The national boxer shared his joy with the Minister of Youth and Sports, Mehmet Muharrem Kasapoğlu, after walking around the stands.
Buse Naz Çakıroğlu brought her second championship in this organization to Turkey, after Ayşe Çağrıır, who won the gold medal in the 48 kg category.
Bronze medals in 50 kg went to Uzbek Aziza Yokubova and Spaniard Laura Fuertes Fernandez.
MINISTER KASAPOĞLU IS WITH NATIONALS
Youth and Sports Minister Mehmet Muharrem Kasapoğlu watched the match in the hall.
Minister Kasapoğlu, who came to Başakşehir Youth and Sports Facilities before the matches, congratulated the national boxers and the technical team who had completed their fight in the previous days.
Ayşe Çağrıır, who won a gold medal in 48 kg, sat next to Minister Kasapoğlu. Kasapoğlu was accompanied by Neşe Gündoğan, Secretary General of the Turkish National Olympic Committee, and Eyüp Gözgeç, President of the Turkish Boxing Federation.
