Galatasaray released a statement on the official site about the incident. In the statement, “


On September 2, 2022, as a result of fire by unknown persons during the night when Galatasaray Island was closed to service, no loss of life or injury was experienced, but material damage occurred to the glass railing by the pool.


As our staff who arrived at Galatasaray Island on Saturday morning, September 3, 2022, noticed the damage, our club immediately filed a criminal complaint regarding the issue.


As Galatasaray Sports Club, while we trust our security units to find the perpetrators of this incident, we present to the public that we will follow the issue until the end.


On this occasion, we strongly condemn the attack on the facilities of the Turkish Football Federation in Riva and hope that such incidents will come to an end. We strongly recommend that the press, whose main duty is to inform the public correctly, should comply with the publishing principles on such sensitive issues and avoid news that may cause provocation.


DETERMINED TO BE TIRED BULLET


One of the glass panels, hit by a bullet, was broken in the fire opened on the complex on Galatasaray Island. While no one was killed or injured in the incident, the Beşiktaş District Governor’s Office stated that it was a tired bullet.

The necessary judicial and administrative investigation has been started by our police department regarding the issue, and the studies are carried out sensitively. We strongly condemn the incident in question and convey our best wishes to the Galatasaray community.”
