The crew of the catamaran shot a red light bullet around 4.30 pm this afternoon. The mast was demolished and the ship could not return to the port independently. “We received the report from the Light Bullet and then we alerted the KNRM stations Texel and Vlieland,” says a spokesperson for the Coast Guard.
Helicopter helps to search Catamaran
A coastguard helicopter, who happened to be in the air because of an exercise, helped with the location of the ship. “At the moment the catamaran is dragged to the port by the KNRM,” said the spokesperson. She can’t say how far the catamaran was at sea when it got into trouble.
The Catamaran on boards are doing well, there are no injuries. “He didn’t change, they could just stay on board.”
