A 15-year-old boy was arrested on Friday afternoon after he and a large group of young people chased someone and strangled and beat him. The police announced this around midnight on Friday.
Someone who saw the group chasing the victim on Montgolfierstraat around four o’clock called the police.
When officers arrived there, there appeared to be a disagreement between the victim and the 15-year-old suspect. The youths had deflated the tires of the victim’s bicycle and thrown the bicycle into the canal.
The police interviewed the victim and witnesses and conducted a neighborhood investigation. The 15-year-old main suspect has been arrested. “The investigation is in full swing and we therefore do not rule out multiple arrests,” the police said on Instagram.
