The fire broke out around 10.45 pm and was scaled up to ‘very large fire’ within two minutes. With, among other things, four tanker sprayers and a platform, the fire brigade has been pulled out. As a precaution, four surrounding homes have been evacuated.

The fire originated in a shed and has been skipped to an adjacent home. As far as we know, there were no injuries and nobody was present in the buildings, a spokesperson told NH. “One person was checked by ambulance personnel but did not have to go to the hospital.”

Prevent fire from spreading

There is considerable smoke development. The Leimuiderdijk is therefore closed from both sides, reports the Kennemerland safety region. The Safety Region then sent an NL-Alert and advises to keep windows and doors closed.

In the meantime, the fire brigade has decided to have both buildings burned out and tries to prevent the fire from spreading to the surrounding homes. It is not yet clear how the fire started.
