Lara Berger: A volleyball talent in the concert of the greats, Volleyball | MTV Stuttgart – SWR – Regional

Lara Berger is one of the young talents in German volleyball. The 1.97 meter diagonal attacker is now a permanent part of the Bundesliga club Allianz MTV Stuttgart. The 20-year-old plays for her dream club. “It’s something very special for me because I’ve always watched the games as a child and always cheered for them,” she enthuses to SWR Sport. “It was a dream that came true for me.”

With 1.97 meters and a lot of training diligence to success

The Tübingen native has a certain size, as does the rest of the family. “My parents are both very tall – in general, we’re all really tall,” she says. But it’s not just height that has brought Lara Berger far forward: training twice a day – seven days a week. The 20-year-old gives everything to pursue her dream. The sporting stage on which she can present herself is international – and Lara Berger is right in the middle.

MTV trainer Aleksandersen: There is no limit for Lara Berger

Coach Tore Aleksandersen raves about the Tübingen native. “I think she’s one of the greatest talents of her age in Germany,” he says – and immediately explains why. “For her size she is very coordinated and very strong.”

But the head coach has one wish for his rather reserved player: “I’m sure she could be a bit louder, a bit more brutal.” With a little more self-confidence, he adds, everything will be fine, then there would be no limit for Lara Berger at her dream club from Stuttgart.

Can the Stuttgart volleyball players get the triple?

The Stuttgart women can already manage the triple of German championship title, German volleyball cup victory and victory in the CEV cup this season: They are leaders in the Bundesliga and they won the German cup final convincingly 3-0 against Dresdner SC on Sunday. And on Tuesday, the second leg in the CEV Cup final against Istanbul is coming up. That is MTV lost the first leg 1:3. But there is still a chance of winning the title in your own hall.
