The 3D knitted sneakers made from organic merino wool by the Cologne fair fashion label Lanius have been nominated for the German Sustainability Award in the Design category. The innovative shoe is particularly light, breathable, odorless and warming. The sole is made of foam, the insole is made of natural latex with a Tencel cover. The shoe gets by in production without any waste.

The winning products will be honored at the 15th German Sustainability Day as part of a separate awards ceremony on December 1, 2022 in Düsseldorf. The German Sustainability Award, which has been in existence for 15 years, is only the third time that it has honored particularly sustainable products, systems and services in the design category. The jury, consisting of actors from politics, business, research and civil society, pre-selected products that cover almost all areas of life – from the food industry to stationery and textile goods to lighting systems and apps for rental systems.
