It’s heading towards the final sprint: Lana Del Rey’s new album DID YOU KNOW THERE’S A TUNNEL UNDER OCEAN BLVD will be released on March 24th. So far there have been two single releases, the title track of the same name and “A&W”. On Wednesday, March 15th, the third foretaste “The Grants” was released.

More about the song “The Grants”

The track was co-written with Mike Hermosa and is accompanied by Melodye Perry, Pattie Howard and Shikena Jones. The latter was featured in the 2013 music documentary 20 Feet From Stardom.

Born Elizabeth Woolridge Grant in 1985, the singer began her career as Lizzy Grant, a variation of her birth name. So the song title could be a reference to Del Rey’s family.

It includes the lines: “I’ll take my part of you with me / My sister’s firstborn child / I’ll take that too / My grandmother’s last smile / I’ll take that too / It’s a beautiful life / Forget that too not for me.”
