Lamborghini supercars will only be electric and hybrid

Supercar manufacturer Lamborghini announced plans to transfer the entire line of its cars to hybrid power plants within two to three years, and in the next decade – to release a completely new electric car.

“This is necessary both to keep up with increasingly stringent legislation and to meet the needs of our customers. At the end of the decade, an all-electric car will appear. It will be a completely unique model that will define the design of a new segment,” said the president and chairman. Stefan Winkelmann of the Board of Automobili Lamborghini.

The Lamborghini electric car will be a four-seat sports utility vehicle in the form of a two-door coupe. The car will have high ground clearance, but at the same time moderate dimensions, allowing it to be a car for every day, according to the Italian newspaper il Messaggero.

“Through the hybridization of the current range, we are fulfilling the promise of making our vehicles even more high-tech and reducing carbon emissions by more than 50%,” said Winkelmann.

The fourth Lamborghini model will appear around 2028, joining the Urus, Huracan and Aventador.

In 2021, the Italian supercar manufacturer sold in Russia almost one and a half times more cars than in 2020, global sales growth was 13 percent. In just a year, 8405 Lamborghini found new owners.
