Lale Gül, regular guest in Nieuws van de Dag and RTL Tonight, is severely attacked in Nieuwe Revu. The magazine features two prominent figures who find her terrible.
De Nieuwe Revu opens the attack on Lale Gül. The magazine features four people who give their opinion about the professional talk show guest: two of them – Aafke Romeijn and Heleen van Royen – speak positively about her, but two others are really unbelievably critical of her. This concerns Jan Roos and Jan Dijkgraaf.
Petty
Jan Roos, presenter of RoddelPraat, thinks that Lale started promisingly. He thinks it’s great that she has said goodbye to Islam. “I really applaud the fact that she fought her way out of that. However, after that you see what happens when someone is picked up by the mainstream media,” he says. in the magazine.
He continues: “She talks about everything, without any general knowledge behind it. What bothers me most is the way she responds to criticism. She puts something online herself, accuses others and then shuts down any dissent. I find that petty and childish.”
Out of the girl
It comes as a surprise to Jan that Lale turns out to be like this. “I honestly didn’t expect that from someone who says she has broken away from a culture in which such things happen. You can take the girl out of Islam, but you never take Islam out of the girl.”
Jan Dijkgraaf, known as a columnist and former biographer of the Meilandjes, agrees. “Lale Gül is a colleague? There is of course a world of difference between her and me. I don’t need an AI to type a piece and I don’t sell my used underwear either. No, colleague, stop it man, I think that is a real insult to the profession.”
Stupid, hollow look
This Jan also thinks it is good that she has put the theme ‘escape from Islam’ on the map. “But it should have stayed at that. After that, she started to believe in herself a little too much and thinks she knows everything. On talk shows you just see that stupid, hollow look when it comes to other topics. Then every now and then some real nonsense comes out.”
“When people criticize that, she gets angry. The problem is not just her, it is mainly the media and talk shows that keep hiring her. If it concerns her own theme, you should call her, but otherwise she should just keep quiet in the media.”
