The Swedish clothing retailer Lager 157 is continuing its expansion in Germany. On Monday, the company announced the opening of another branch next summer. The retailer chose the Forum Hanau shopping center as the location. In the Hessian city, the brand secured premises with a sales area of around 1,900 square meters.

Lager 157 entered the German market in 2024 with its first store in Bremen and has since announced further new openings. Together with the already known locations, the planned branch in Hagen is “one of the next strategic expansion steps,” the company said.

In this context, the clothing retailer underlined the continued importance of physical stores. “Despite growing digital sales channels, Lager 157 continues to consciously focus on stationary retail and its future,” says the statement. “The stores are a central part of the brand strategy and create direct access to the brand.” Founder and CEO Stefan Palm emphasized the strategic value of the stores: “For us, the store is the most important point of contact with our customers,” he explained in a statement.

The company, founded in 1999, says it now operates a total of more than 100 stores in the Nordic countries as well as in Germany and the Netherlands. It follows its special business model, which is completely focused on “long-lasting, affordable fashion basics for everyday life”. “Instead of constantly changing collections, the company relies on a permanently available range of around 600 items,” explained the clothing retailer.
